Rio de Janeiro city’s Downtown – view from office

Was at our Rio de Janeiro’s office yesterday. Took below photos just to share the view that we see often. BTW, our office is located at Avenida Rio Branco (english : White River Avenue).
Here’s the view (looking southward) from the office.
I’ll see if I can find the photos taken of the other view (looking northward).
What’s ‘downtown’? Here’s some info that might help.

You guys notice the little numerous light/dots at the mountains? These are the lights from the various slumps (or ‘favela’ as Brazillian called them, the poor neighbourhood, which were built illegally, and often not an advisable area to visit. Just watch the movies Tropa de Elite & Cidade de Deus, ‘n u’ll roughly get the idea.

At right side of photo, there’s a slim tower with few lights at its top(its a clock tower). That’s the central train station).
